Trail Ride Goes South After a Good Old Fashioned Texas Shootout Takes Place
A group of Trail Riders around College Station, about 7,000 people, settled in to camp around Texas World Speedway on Saturday night. Around 10:30 pm the police were rallied to respond to a shooting that left one man shot and another headed to the pokey, but not just yet, seeing as the shooting is on the lam and has not been apprehended, as reported by Brazos County Sheriff, Chris Kirk.
Initially the Speedway was in lock-down by the arrival of police presence, not allowing anyone to enter or leave, until the scene was secured and the police were able to understand the situation.
The event, ‘Four Horsemen Trail Ride and Campout’, is an annual trail ride, this being the 11th year, but first year that it has been held in Brazos County.
Police reports say that the two men involved were not Brazos County residents and had a feud amongst themselves for a week or so. It appears Saturday night was the night the last straw was drew and the showdown unfolded. Although it was most likely not a showdown, as much as it was two pissed off fellas whom ended their scuffle with a gunshot.
